Job Description
The Deal Management Team (DMT) is a dynamic team established to support standard as well as highly negotiated, unique or strategic software contracts (Enterprise License Agreements) from inception of a sales opportunity to booking. The team will be skilled and knowledgeable in a variety of areas including deal modelling, revenue recognition and commercial contract structure. As the DMT manager you will manage this team of DMT Analysts, engage with our management team to build and promote the DMT model and brand, partner with Sales, Legal and Commercial Solutions to establish best practice aligned with our Corporate DMT initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Hold regular one-to-one discussions with your direct reports, manage performance, provide mentoring and development support, assist with hiring and onboarding process
- Coach and motivate to get the best outcome from the team
- Creating a demanding environment, requires strong stakeholder management, negotiation and critical thinking skills
- Review training and developmental needs of the team
- Gather feedback from regional DMT managers for the team members for developmental opportunity.
- Escalation management
- Track and manage daily volumes; ensure enough coverage provided across teams
- Oversee timely and accurate processing of transactions and adherence to 3P guidelines
- Assist with queries and escalations from team and other groups, acting as SME in various areas
- Ensure effective and equal workflow distribution within the team
- Interact with Sales teams, Revenue and numerous internal groups as required to support the approval request
- Support the successful execution of Distributor closes and Quarter-ends
- Drive process documentation and process re-engineering
- Participate in projects and organizational initiatives to improve and streamline processes
- Provide suggestions and ideas that enhance processes, customer/sales experience and simplicity of operations
- Understanding of tools – SalesForce.com / Case Management Tool
- Deliver on ad-hoc assignments as business requires
- Understand the products of the company and help the team to understand the basic of VMW product and offering
- Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions
- Ensure clear communication and visibility of improvements to all parties required (leadership, stakeholders, etc.)
- Regular connect with regional and local DMT managers.
- Contributed to site level initiatives
- Work with internal DMT managers for various people/site level program within India
- Establishing courses of action for self and others to ensure that work is completed efficiently
Required Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years related experience in the software industry, deal management, consulting, operations, contract and/or order management experience desired and
- Minimum 4+ years of People management experience
- Experience in working in a diverse, Multicultural Organization
- Experience in working with or in IT Multinational organisations, Telecoms or Sourcing/Procurement
- Demonstrable success managing talent in a team
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional attention to detail required
- Proven ability to exercise good judgement whilst juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to interpret information from multiple disciplines including revenue recognition, legal and sales
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
