What You’ll Do
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
- Estimate, plan, and coordinate testing activities
- Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers, DevOps, and product manager) to identify system requirements
- Provide inputs on high-level test scenarios, challenges, risks, resources, test estimates, etc., during test planning meetings
- Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
- Identify, record, and track bugs to closure
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
- Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing enterprise systems.
- Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
- Check consistency across devices, browsers, and operating systems;
- Analyze and respond to user reporting system issues and requests
Who You Are
- You like working with an IT team with diverse technical skills, including folk who dont necessarily understand the intricacies of UI frontend tools and frameworks.
- You can communicate well (spoken and written) with a diverse audience – developers of all levels, product managers, and people who do not have a software development background. You have a knack to quickly identify the audience and tailor your message to meet their needs.
- You have a natural inclination to solve business problems by using a pragmatic balance between technology and business processes.
- Passionate about solving problems and delivering customer-centered solutions that make you proud
- Good time management and organizations skills. Pragmatic team player with focus on getting the job done
- You have good relationship building skills and motivated to gracefully develop good internal & external relationships
- 2+ years experience in software development and testing
- Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
- Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
- Experienced in testing both web/browser-based interfaces as well as APIs
- Experienced in working closely with the development team – from reproducing the reported issue and emphasizing the fix for critical bugs to understanding how the bug has been fixed.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process would be helpful; but not necessary.
- Hands-on experience with testing using automated testing tools like Selenium and jMeter, would be an advantage
- Experience in creating and maintaining test automations using tools like Selenium, and jMeter, would be a big advantage.
- Programming skills using popular scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Shell scripts, Powershell, SQL .. etc) is desirable as some of the assignments may require building automations or data analysis/manipulation.
- Basic understanding of how common AWS components used for compute, network, and storage works, would be an advantage.
