Job Description
This role represents a unique opportunity to grow and expand the skills in a dynamic environment. This will provide an opportunity to learn about software quality assurance of large scale applications whilst working on projects using the latest test tools and technologies.
In this role, you will architect, design, drive and implement smart automation tools/framework to solve the UI and API testing challenges and improve internal test frameworks. Expected to collaborate and coordinate across all functional teams to ensure a feature is end-to-end automated. You will work with the QA team for the refinement and adoption of the tools and take it to the production to reduce manual QA efforts to make us more agile. Anticipate problems that customers observe and develop comprehensive test cases. Team spirit with ability to work alone on engagements under the supervision of QA manager.
Responsibilities
- Leads multiple project teams of other software quality assurance engineers responsible for all stages of quality assurance for complex products and platforms, including testing strategy, analysis, coding, results evaluation, and proposed corrective actions.
- Lead the test approach for test automation as well with analyzing functional test requirements, identify weak spots and constantly design better and creative ways to break software and identify potential problems for components of the system under test.
- Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development and quality assurance partners on software and firmware design and development.
- Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with quality assurance guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
- Provides domain-specific expertise and overall software quality assurance leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
- Influence better software design, promote proper engineering practice, bug prevention strategies, testability, accessibility, privacy, secured and other advanced quality concepts across products.
- Design and management of test automation strategies for various products in the portfolio.
- Manage the test approach, test preparation, test tool infrastructure, test execution and results interpretation for test automation.
- Review and evaluate designs and product activities for compliance with quality assurance guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
- Provide domain-specific expertise and overall software quality assurance leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
- Drives innovation and integration of new QA technologies into projects and activities in the software quality assurance organization.
- Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced team members.
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- Typically 6+ years experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Extensive experience with multiple software quality assurance tools and processes.
- Evaluating forms and processes for software testing and methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Experience in overall architecture and software design for products and solutions.
- Experience with design and integration of software running on multiple platform types.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.
- Experience in Agile, Continuous Integration(CI) and Continuous Deployment(CD) workflow and implementation
- Demonstrated experience in test frameworks design and development
- Strong experience in developing automated test of UI and APIs components and systems that rely on the micro services and responsive web application
- Understanding of service technologies such as REST and SOAP interface
- Strong experience in automated testing tools/frameworks such as HP UFT, Selenium, JMeter, LoadRunner and open source tools.
- Experience of web applications solutions hosted on cloud
- Experience with Java and scripting for automation (e.g., UNIX Shell scripting, Python, Perl, Ruby).
- Knowledge of UNIX system environment, preferably CentOS
- Demonstrated ability to go the extra mile, Self-starter and self-motivated with a can do attitude. Comfortable working in fast paced dynamic environment
- Utilize innovative testing technologies to develop automation for improving product’s testing strategy.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Knowledge And Skills
- Test Experience and Writing high quality test code to execute complex tests on a distributed system and on public/private cloud environment
- Strong knowledge on database performance.
- Strong hands on experience on system monitoring tools and frameworks.
- Experience on Test management/ALM solutions e.g. Bugzilla, JIRA, HP ALM/QC, Test Link
- Strong experience in bottleneck analysis, profiling, and tracing.
- Strong experience accessing relational database from automated testing for Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres, and MySQL
- Experience in below technologies
- Non-functional testing tools
- Database concepts
- IDE like Eclipse/NetBeans/IntelliJ
- Exposure to DevOps
- Cloud and Container technologies
- Knowledge on Jenkins & Git
- Test-driven development (TDD)
- ITSQB or other Testing certifications
