Role Responsibilities
- Responsible for the 24/7 operations of a complex SaaS system
- Partner with QE, Dev, and Ops teams to ensure timely, accurate deployment of code
across environments
- Provides technical leadership to Software Engineers and Systems Engineers
- Becomes familiar with all dependencies, interfaces and services required by the system
- Champion operational, supportability, reliability, and performance concerns
- Estimates and plans own work
- Becomes the resident expert across multiple areas of the system
- Evaluates issues with the system and resolves them in a timely manner
- Ensures proper documentation is completed for all work
- Responsible for achieving industry-standard SLA’s for availability and response time
- Implements changes to system assuring the changes do not introduce new issues
Position Requirements
- Candidate must possess a BA or BS degree in Computer Science or related field of experience
- Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of Systems Engineering experience
- Candidate should have 3-5 years of experience providing operational support for mission-critical applications
- Proficient in Python, and shell scripting
- Proficient in Linux Systems Engineering
- RHCE or similar certification is preferred
- Docker experience is highly desired
- Candidate should have experience working in a fast-paced technology environment
- Candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Candidate should have strong interpersonal skills
