About Contest of Icertis Data Science Online Hackathon Challenge:

Objective of the hackathon is to –
Identify all forms that are required to be filed that can have gender diversity-related information From each form for companies that match a specified search criterion (for example, revenues between $100m and $200m, software companies founded between 2005 to 2015) that can potentially contain gender information, figure out what analysis can be done to determine gender differences

This will mean reading each PDF/TIFF format file, XBRL data, and determining people names in different roles and deducing the gender from these filing

Hackathon Description for Icertis Data Science Online Hackathon Challenge:-

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requires firms with publicly traded shares to issue periodic reports to shareholders. These SEC filings are part of the SEC’s Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval system (EDGAR), a large online database.

This is veritable treasure trove of annotated and structured document data which can be used for various machine learning tasks like Document Classification and Information Extraction.

Hackathon Format

Round 1 (Online): – MCQ with Cut-off, candidates scoring more than cut-off will go to the 2nd round.

Round 2 (Online): – Shortlisted candidates can form their own team and the problem statement would be visible on which they need to share the prototype/POC.

Round 3 (Online): – Jury presentation of top 10 teams followed by R & R

Rules:

  1. This hackathon will have 3 levels Screening round, Online Hackathon and Offline Hackathon.
  2. Maximum two attempts are given in screening round. Higher score of the two attempts will be considered as final score.
  3. On that basis of screening round user will be selected for leader and form a team with other members to participate in hackathon.
  4. This is a team participation hackathon. You can have 2-4 members in your team.
  5. You can either invite your friends or participants to form a team or you can request other teams to add you as a member.
  6. As soon as you clear the screening round, you can participate in online hackathon.
  7. During online hackathon, you can participate from anywhere.
  8. Once the hackathon starts, you will get an option to submit your hack, you can submit as many times as you want, the best hack will be considered as the final submission.
  9. Your hack must be developed entirely during the Hackathon duration. You may use open source libraries and other freely available systems or frameworks.
